Many of the Law Library’s books begin with the call number K because this letter is used for books with Law as their subject. Here are some other common call numbers.

• K 1 – 31 Law periodicals, the Iowa Law Review, Journal of Corporate Law and Journal of Gender, Race and Justice are all found here.
• KF American Law that is not state specific
• KFA – KFZ These call numbers are used for state and municipal law. The KF tells us that the book pertains to American Law. The third letter will be the first letter of the state. So books with KFF for a call number will be about Florida.
• JX Many periodicals on foreign law can be found in the early JX call numbers. Including Transnational Law and Contemporary Problems.
