There are three methods for obtaining photocopies of materials in the Law Library. Patrons may use self-service copiers, they may contact Special Services in Room 130, or they may take eligible items to Copy Center #10. Self-service photocopy machines are located on all four levels of the Law Library. These machines are operated by purchasing a “PaperCut” card that entitles the purchaser to copies at $.10 per page. PaperCut cards are available in $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 or $20.00 increments. UI law community members use their HawkID and password to activate the copier; other users must obtain an ID and password from the Circulation Desk.
- The self-service photocopy machines in the library are programmed to accept usernames and passwords only. Patrons may purchase PaperCut cards at the Circulation Desk. Redeem PaperCut cards as soon as possible after purchase by going online and registering the amount. The library will NOT give refunds for lost or expired PaperCut cards. If you are a Research Assistant (RA), a member of law review, moot court or other authorized organization, a PaperCut card may be purchased via departmental requisition.
- Special Services (in Room 130) will arrange photocopying of materials for individuals or firms if a correct citation is provided. Special Services assesses a service charge of $10.00 per requested item plus copying charges of $.15 per page. Postage will be billed using library first class rates. While most service is in response to telephone and mail requests, exceptions may be made.
- Copy Center #10 is located in Room 180 of the Law Building. Students may use the Copy Center by either taking materials directly to the Copy Center or by sending items to the Center through the Circulation Desk. All library materials must be checked out. The requestor retrieves his or her finished copies from the Copy Center and pays for them at that time. Copy Center #10 hours are 8:00 a.m.-Noon and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
