Computing and Technology: Student Printing, Copying, and Scanning

Printing from a Law Library Computer

Black & white printing costs $.03 per printed side; color printing costs $.15 per printed side; prints are charged directly to your U-Bill

The default setting for printing is double-sided (or two-sided). For single-sided (or one-sided) printing, please follow the directions on the How to Print Single-Sided on a Windows ITC Computer article.

Black & white document – select: \\itcprinting\ITC-BW

  • Go to the Print Release Station, located on the second floor of the Law Library or in the first floor Lauridsen Family Law Commons, and log in using your Hawk ID
  • Select Print Job then select Print 

Color document – select: \\itcprinting\ITC-COLOR

  • Go to the Print Release Station located in the first floor Lauridsen Family Law Commons, and log in using your Hawk ID
  • Select Print Job then select Print

IMPORTANT: Free printing is available through the Lexis Advance interface. The Lexis printer is located in Room 134 of the Law Library, and details on using the Lexis printer are at the Lexis Advance tab on this guide.

Printing from a Laptop

*Please note that all printing from a laptop is double-sided (or two-sided) printing. Single-sided (or one-sided) printing may only be requested from a Law Library computer. Please follow the dirctions on the How to Print Single-Sided on a Windows ITC Computer article.

Log in to printing.its.uiowa.edu with your HawkID and password

  • Select "Web Print" and then "Submit a Job >>" 
  • Black & white - select: ITCPrinting\ITC-BW (virtual) / ITC Main BW Print Queue
    Color - select: ITCPrinting\ITC-COLOR (virtual) / ITC Main Color Print Queue

  • Follow the prompts to submit your print job. 
  • Black & white: go to the Print Release Station, located on the second floor of the Law Library or in the first floor Lauridsen Family Law Commons, and log in using your HawkID. 
  • Color: go to the Print Release Station located in the first floor Lauridsen Family Law Commons, and log in using your Hawk ID
  • Select print job and then click "Print." You may also click "Cancel" if you do not want the print job. 
  • When you are finished at the Print Release Station, click on "Done."

Copying and Scanning

Copying

A coin-operated photocopy machine is located near the Reference Desk on Level 2 of the Law Library.

Copying costs $.10 per page.

Scanning

A high-speed, black and white/color scanner is located near the Reference Desk on the second floor of the Law Library. Scanned documents may be emailed or saved to an USB flash drive. The USB port is located on the left side of the panel display.

Two black and white scanners are located elsewhere in the Law Library. One of the scanners is located on the first floor, at the computer opposite the elevator, and one is located on the third floor, at the computers near the center of the floor. There is no charge to use the scanners, and scanned documents may be emailed or saved to an USB flash drive, using the attached computers.
