Introduction

The Russian Federation is the current form of the Russian state.  This reach guide focuses mainly on those resources applicable to the Russian Federation, i.e., the political entity that developed during the period 1991-1992, and that has continued up to the present time.  Because most of the materials cited on this researech guide are in the English language, they of necessity give selected access to Russian Federation law.  The research guide also provides very limited, selected coverage of English language versions of law from the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).

Abbey Moffitt, a student at the University of Iowa College of Law, authored this Research Guide as part of the course requirements for the fall 2013 Foreign, Comparative, and International Law Advanced Legal Research course.
