The Stair Society promotes knowledge of Scottish legal history by publishing original documents and reprinting significant historical works. This digitized collection provides searchable access to PDF images of the Stair Society Main (Annual) Series since its inception in 1936 as well as the society's three volume Supplementary Series. It also includes such works as the Collection and Abridgement of Celebrated Criminal Trials in Scotland, from A. D. 1536 to 1784; Ecclesiastical Records of England, Ireland, and Scotland, from the Fifth Century Till the Reformation; and Lord Chancellors of Scotland from the Institution of the Office to the Treaty of Union.
