Westlaw is a comprehensive full-text database that offers a wide range of law-related resources, including primary and secondary legal sources.

College of Law students have access to 180-hours of usage per month. Be sure to log out of your account at the end of each session to prevent hours from being used while you are inactive. If you reach your limit for the month unexpectedly, Westlaw might accidentally have been left open in a browser tab. This limit does not apply to faculty.

  • Only members of the University of Iowa College of Law community may establish personal passwords to Westlaw. Please see the Reference Department for access.
