Troubleshooting Online Resources: Quick Start Guide

This guide covers common issues when accessing the Law Library's online resources.

The Law Library both purchases and licenses online resources from a variety of vendors, all with different methods for accessing these materials. It can be very confusing when you receive an error to know what went wrong and how to fix it! This guide will walk you through the most common issues.

Getting Started Quickly

 1.  Known Issues - Check the E-Resource Status Page for Known Outages

 2.  Licensing Restrictions - There might be restrictions on how you can use the resource that are preventing you from accessing it such as simultaneous users. Check the Licensing Issues page for common restrictions and tips on how to tell if this is causing your error.

 3.  Technical Issues - Technical problems can happen in a variety of ways. Check the Technical Issues page for common issues you can troubleshoot at home.

 4.  Report a Problem - Some issues cannot be resolved on your end. It requires the Law Library to work with the vendor to resolve access issues. Please visit the Report a Problem form to fill out a brief report form about the issue you are having.

If this guide doesn't help you resolve your access issue, please contact the Law Library through any of the methods listed for assistance.
