Legal Research - Online Modules: Secondary Resources

Welcome to the Secondary Resources Module!

When you have a legal issue, the best place to start is often a secondary source. Stand on the shoulders of giants! Save time! Get a good start on your research! This Module is focused on teaching you how to:

  • discern between a variety of secondary resources;
  • select an appropriate secondary resource for your particular legal problem or needs;
  • use secondary resources to achieve an understanding of the legal issues presented; and
  • conceptualize and operationalize how to move from secondary to primary legal resources.

In order to get the most out of your Secondary Resources Module experience, we recommend following these 3 easy steps:

  1. Listen & View. Watch or listen to the Secondary Resources Module video. View, download, and save the Secondary Resources Handout for use in the Secondary Resources Workshop and for future reference.
  2. Practice Your Skills. Complete the Secondary Resources Workshop
  3. Check Your Answers. Check your answers against the Workshop Key
