Legal Research - Online Modules: Case Law

Welcome to the Case Law Module!

Being able to find relevant judicial opinions is a critical skill in the legal profession. This Module is focused on teaching you how to:

  • locate relevant judicial opinions;
  • recognize and operationalize research tools associated with judicial opinions; and
  • decipher citations to state and federal judicial opinions.

In order to get the most out of your Case Law Module experience, we recommend following these 3 easy steps:

  1. Listen & View. Watch or listen to the Case Law Module video. View, download, and save the Case Law Handout for use in the Case Law Workshop and for future reference.
  2. Practice Your Skills. Complete the Case Law Workshop
  3. Check Your Answers. Check your answers against the Workshop Key
