Legal Research - Online Modules: Admin. Law

Welcome to the Administrative Law Module!

Being able to locate federal administrative regulations is a fairly straight-forward task but, in addition to the research itself, you need to understand the process that a regulation goes through, how to decipher the agency's intentions, and locate the related statutory and case law that provides context and application of the regulation. This Module is focused on teaching you how to:

  • research relevant administrative regulations;
  • recognize and operationalize search tools associated with regulations;
  • explain and trace the relationship between the Code of Federal Regulations and the United States Code; and
  • recognize the Federal Register and how its contents feed into the Code of Federal Regulations.

In order to get the most out of your Administrative Law Module experience, we recommend following these 3 easy steps:

  1. Listen & View. Watch or listen to the Administrative Law Module video.
  2. Practice Your Skills. Complete the Administrative Law Workshop
  3. Check Your Answers. Check your answers against the Answer Key

Step 1: Listen & View
