Legal Research - Online Modules: Topical Searching

Welcome to the Searching Topics Module!

Being able to locate relevant primary sources is a critical skill in the legal profession. This Module is focused on teaching you how to:

  • use topics and subjects to locate relevant primary sources; and
  • recognize and operationalize research tools associated with topical research.

In order to get the most out of your Searching Topics Module experience, we recommend following these 3 easy steps:

  1. Listen & View. Watch or listen to the Searching Topics Module video
  2. Practice Your Skills. Complete the Searching Topics Workshop
  3. Check Your Answers. Check your answers against the Workshop Key

Step 1: Listen & View

Watch or listen to the Searching Topics Module video. (A link to the downloadable PowerPoint is provided for you beneath the embedded video.)
