Legal Research - Online Modules: Const. & Statutes

Welcome to the Constitutions & Statutes Module!

Constitutions and statutes are frequently overlooked in research. When it comes to primary sources of law, constitutions and statutes are vital resources to examine and interpret. This Module is focused on teaching you how to:

  • locate relevant constitutional provisions and statutes;
  • recognize and operationalize research tools associated with constitutions and statutes; and
  • decipher citations to constitutions and statutes.

In order to get the most out of your Constitutions & Statutes Module experience, we recommend following these 3 easy steps:

  1. Listen & View. Watch or listen to the Constitutions & Statutes Module video. View, download, and save the Statutes Handout for use in the Constitutions & Statutes Workshop and for future reference.
  2. Practice Your Skills. Complete the Constitutions & Statutes Workshop
  3. Check Your Answers. Check your answers against the Workshop Key
